2025

Graduated from Dartmouth with my Master's in Earth Science.

Working with Python, GIS, machine learning, and C++ , I studied the spatiotemporal trends of meter-scale surface roughness of the Greenland Ice Sheet and developed a new, on-ice laser distance meter.

Here's example figure from my thesis:

Developed an innovative instrument for surface roughness measurements.

This package, called the SLIVER Box, integrates a geodetic-grade GNSS unit, a nav-grade GPS unit, and an industrial LiDAR unit. I deployed it at Summit Station, Greenland, where I also used other surveying techniques, including a Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS) and an auto-level.

Here's the pin-out of the instrument package:

2024

My master's research began to coalesce around polar surface roughness and associated instrumentation.

Here's my 2023 AGU poster on those topics:

Taught at Dartmouth's Geologic Field Camp.

I taught geophysical techniques and geologic mapping in the Canadian Rockies and American West, ensuring participant wellbeing in backcountry scenarios.

Completed the first field season of my master's at Summit Station, Greenland.

At Summit, I developed and tested five laser distance meters for polar surface roughness measurement capabilities. I also worked with radiosondes and an ApRES system.

Attended CUAHSI's Snow Measurement Field School.

In this program, I learned a variety of field techniques, including photogrammetry, snow pit excavation + stratigraphy, LiDAR, and spectroscopy.

2023

I presented my undergraduate research on the sesimology of tightly-curved subduction zones at AGU in 2022.

Here's my poster:

Started my Master's in Earth Science at Dartmouth.

I spent several months exploring different research topics, ranging from peripheral ice caps observed with ICESat-2 to glacial isostatic rebound via GNSS.

Spent the summer working on a vineyard.

As a farmhand in the New York Finger Lakes region, I learned about small business organization and alternative farming practices .

Graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida with degrees in Math and Geology.

My thesis was on the topic of seismic moment release in tightly-curved subduction zones, research for which I received multiple scholarships and recognition awards.

Here's an example figure from my thesis:

2022

Worked in an isotopic geochemistry lab.

I analyzed environmental samples from the Colorado Smelter Superfund Site, using long- and short-column chemistry and an ICP-MS to determine the origins of elevated lead levels in surrounding communities.

Completed UF's geologic field camp.

Here's some of my favorite work from this course:

2021

Performed research with UF's Dynamics and Materials Group.

In this role, I examined the seismic deformation of tightly-curved subduction zones, using MATLAB, GMT, and Bash/CLI .

Became the Outreach Coordinator for UF GeoGators and Field Trip Leader for UF GeoClubs.

As Outreach Coordinator, I worked with local schools and other participating institutions to provide hands-on, geoscience short courses in classrooms and museums, fostering public engagement and interest in the geosciences.

As a Field Trip Leader, I planned and led regional geologic field trips, along with quarterly professional development seminars.

Worked as a Caretake + Sales Associate at Nobles Greenhouse and Plant Nursery.

I maintained stock and provided customers with personalized gardening advice based on their landscape, soil composition, and USDA growing zone.

2020

Worked as a Summer Camp Counselor.

I mentored groups of students, ages 6 through 16, ensuring their physical and emotional wellbeing while functioning as a lifeguard and art instructor.

Performed research with UF's Paleoclimatology and Oceanography Group.

I identified planktonic formanifera from Southern Ocean sediment cores and titrated water samples, both of which were used as proxies for paleocirculation.

2019

Began studying Geology and Mathematics at the University of Florida.

Interned at the Suwannee River Water Managent District , digitizing files and performing data entry in Excel.

Graduated valedictorian from my local high school.
